Find Unfishinished Paintings

I found this old still life in my studio ... judging by the jonquils, it must have been springtime when I started it. I never finished it, so it's now an eternal "work in progress." I look at it now and feel pleased with the start that I had made, and realize that such unfinished finds can be inspiring.

Inspiring because I've started a new still life. I've been working on it a little in the early mornings before heading off to work, and often again in the afternoon when I return home. It feels good to have a painting in progress ... whether I ever finish it or not. After all, it's all about the journey and not the destination, right?

I like it- and its ALWAYS about the journey

How true! I always give myself a hard time when I haven't finished a painting or other project, and forget to feel good that I even started it! I'll have to remember that!

It sure is Sharkbytes!

And yes, Arlene, give yourself elbow room *and* credit for every accomplishment!

Ooo I agree about how inspiring unfinished finds can be. I usually have a round of cards in pencil format that have been started, but never completed. I love finding them. They're like little archeological finds unearthed from my ancient craft piles. Of course I have found a few that made me gasp in shock or confusion at where I was going or how bad it actually was.

Beautiful still life by the way, even unfinished.
